The Trust (ACCT for short) was set up in 2003. ACCT’s aims are:
- to address conservation issues associated with the UK Biodiversity Action Plan (UKBAP) in relation to wetland ecosystems (See BAP species)
- to promote research on wetland beetles (Coleoptera) either with Species Action Plans or recognised within Habitat Action Plans and Group Plans under the UK BAP
- to raise the profile of wetland beetles by using the results of research to refine conservation management advice
- to support the National Biodiversity Network (NBN) Gateway and similar UK-wide initiatives by providing data and interpretation of data
ACCT is registered as a charity (SCO37556) and a company (310510).
