February 2018 is beetle month! The British Entomological and Natural History Society (BENHS) runs a series of free workshops on different insect groups, at their collections room near Reading in Berkshire. There are three workshops devoted to beetles coming up in February:
- An Introduction to the Identification of British Curculionoidea (weevils) - Saturday 3 February, led by Peter Hodge and Roger Booth
- Staphylinidae identification workshop (rove beetles) - Saturday 17 February, led by Roger Booth and Peter Hodge
- Ground Beetle (Carabidae) identification workshop - Saturday 24 February, led by Mark Telfer and John Walters
The workshops are free to attend, but places must be booked by contacting Marc Taylor at BENHS, see details in the above links.
