Habitat: Various
Host plant: Various grasses, wild and cultivated (i.e. cereals)
Overwintering: Adults in grass tussovks, haystacks and moss (including Sphagnum)
Food: Adults on leaves, larvae in the stems
Other notes: Can be pests of cereal crops. Adults parasitised by the braconid wasps Perilitus cerealium and P. bicolor.
