To add a news item, go to the Content menu, and choose Add content - News.
This opens up a new template for a news item to be added. You need to provide a title, a link to a recording scheme (where relevant), and the text of the news item:
Optionally you can also add one or more images within the main text box.
If you link your news item to a particular scheme, it will appear on the main website home page but will also be linked to the scheme (and will become visible on the scheme pages once they have been set up to show news items - this is still to be implemented).
Adding an image (optional)
To add an image into your text, position the cursor at the relevant point in the text box, and then click on the "Add image" button in the toolbar above the text box: 
This opens up a new window. Click on the button to the right of the "Image URL" box:
This opens up another window, where you need to click on "Upload", and then "Browse" to find the image file that you wish to use. Then click on the second "Upload" button:
Your image file is now saved on the BRC server, but has not yet been placed in your news story. To do so, click on the "Insert file" button:
