Listed as a subscriber to Denny (1825). Lived at Surrey Street, Norwich. Mentioned by Stephens (1828, 11) 'about ten years back it [Cicindela germanica] was observed by Mr Brightwell in abundance running amongst the grass at Blackgang Chine in the Isle of Wight'. Records of accessions by the local Society, in Norwich Castle Museum, state that Brightwell gave foreign Coleoptera in 1848 and 1850 (including a specimen from Brazil). FLS. (MD 12/01)
