CLARK, Kenneth John Benjamin

Submitted by admin on
Boyhood friend of Claude Henderson and Donald Tozer who went out collecting with them in Leicestershire. Qualified as a chartered mechanical engineer after joining the British United Shoe Machinery Company as an apprentice straight from school. He was a keen cyclist (both touring and competition) and motor-cyclist. Lott (2009) p.30 states that ‘Clark’s collecting activities dropped off in the 1940s as a result of a rise in family and professional commitments. A large proportion of his collection was eaten by museum pests, but what remains [in Leicester Museum] is nevertheless of great interest and value.’ (MD 11/09)
