T.B.Kitchen records in EMM, 98, 1962, p.22 that Horrell inspired W.D.Hincks to become interested in foreign Coleoptera and that he had a collection which Hincks subsequently acquired. Hancock and Pettit (1981) record that there is a collection of mosses in Bolton Museum which Horrell exchanged for duplicate British Coleoptera, and that his address at that time was 49 Danby Street, Peckham, London.
