Lived in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. All round naturalist with a special interest in insects and molluscs. Worked on an M.S.C sponsored schemes at the Hancock Museum, and as a volunteer, and at the time of his death gave various collections of natural history specimens including 1,000 Coleoptera.
