Description

Size: 1.5-2mm
Basic colour: Bronze-brown, often with a greenish reflection, sometime very dark blue to almost black.

Leg colour: Femora as basic colour, tibiae/tarsi usually brownish, front tarsi sometimes bronze.

Biology

Status: Widely scattered in Wales and southern England
Habitat: Various
Host plant: Sedes and rushes, also galingales (Cyperus spp).
Overwintering: Probably as adults in moss on wood.
Food: Life cycle unknown, but larvae possibly in stems.
