Description

Basic colour: Shining bronze.
Pattern colour: Coppery, reddish or purplish-metallic microsculpture evident.
Pronotoum: Slightly transverse.
Leg colour: Dark metallic

Biology

Status: Sometime abdundant. Very local in northern and western Britain.
Habitat: Bare sand and fine shingle near rivers or standing water.
Other notes: Third and fourth elytral striae stongly bent outwards in front of the anterior silver spot.

Biology

Status: Known from a single breeding site in Suffolk and a single record from Kent. Also known from Lough Neagh, northern Ireland but not recorded since 1923.

Habitat: On bare sand near fresh water.
Other notes: Head shining between the frontal furrows which are strongly bent round orbital seta. Elytra with all striae more or less straight except where third stria is bent out around the silver spots.

Status: Occasional specimens from Kent and Sussex until 1928. Several found in London since 2005.
