Basic colour: Dull yellowish

Pronotoum: As basic colour but with weak metallic sheen (also seen on the head)
Leg colour: As basic colour, hind femora darkened

Status: Widespread and common. though it may have declined in some western parts e.g. SW Scotland.
Habitat: Various
Host plant: Various across several plant families
Overwintering: Adults hibernate in moss
Food: Adults on leaves, larvae at roots
Other notes: Adults parasitised by an unidentified nematode.

Leg colour: As basic colour, apical half of hind femora darkened.
Confusion species: Longitarsus nasturtii

Biology

Status: Scattered, mostly in England. Scarce (Notable B) and appears to have declined.
Habitat: Woodland; possibly also dry, open habitats and quarries.
Host plant: Various Boraginaceae, mulleins (Verbascum spp); also some Asteraceae and possibly other plants.
Overwintering: As adults and possibly immature stages.
Food: Adults on host leaves, larvae at roots of Boraginaceae

Overwintering: Probably as adults
Food: Adults on leaves, larvae at roots
Other notes: Similar to the dark form of L. luridus
